MSR Whisperlite Internationale (Edit)

By far one of the best stoves for hiking. I have had this baby for 10 years and it still performs well. The Pump has broken, although it still is useable. I haven't seen another stove as compact, reliable that boils a pot of water so fast.

I have had my stove for 10 years now and it has never let me down. I picked up a Service kit for it a year ago to find nothing fit my pump. A quick check found the pump was changed and the newer pump was totally different to mine. Shortly after my pump broke and the plunger no longer locked into the housing. I tried to get it fixed but the parts are no longer available. For $49 Bogong Equipment offered me a new pump, which i was really happy about. They also had a full range of spares and at areasonable rate. With plenty of MSR's going cheap on ebay, a lot with only the burner, a cheap stove could be purchased on ebay.

I recently picked up an old MSR XGK stove on ebay, for the meer sum of $56. this excellent stove out performs the Whisperlite in Alpine areas although it does take up a little more room in the pack.
I will be sure to post an update soon as to how it performs in the field.
